Figure A--This looks like a subtle, finely-tuned, exquisite wallpaper pattern, but closer inspection reveals that the wall covering is fabric. Although upholstering a wall can effectively drown out noise and improve acoustics, invariably, the desire to upholster walls is just to have something different and pleasing.

Figure B--To make wall upholstering cost-effective, Bush does much of the cutting and planning off-site. Once the fabric and batting are cut to size, she then brings the materials to the room to be upholstered.

Figure C--Once tacking strips have been placed on the walls to prevent damage, batting is put into place. Once the fabric is hung, decorative cording is placed around the edges to hide the staples. Wall fabric was used centuries ago to keep out the cold, but today, wall upholstering is used to bring aesthetic warmth to a room.
