You'll need two 20-inch square pieces of felt.

Materials:

Rainbow Classic felt by Kunin
- two 20" x 20" felt squares
- nine 5" x 18" felt rectangles in lavender - #754, orchid - #758 and purple - #751
chalk or marker
scissors
ruler
16" x 16" pillow form

Steps:

1. Draw a chalk line one inch in to indicate a "no cut zone" on one long side of each of the 5" x 18" felt pieces.

2. Make parallel cuts in the felt to fringe it (figure A). It should look like a big eyelash.

3. Starting at the bottom of a 20" x 20" felt square, pin the fringed panels to the square to create the pillow base. Keep the overlapping the panels ( figure B).

4. Sew the fringed felt panels onto the pillow base.

Assembly

1. Place the square, fringed-side down, on the other fringed square. Pin the edges, making sure no fringe is caught in the edges.

2. Sew the felt squares together along three sides. Leave one edge unstitched.

3. Insert the pillow form in the opening at the right side of the pillow cover.

4. Hand stitch the open end closed.

Host Carol Duvall dubbed this design the "Psychedelic" pillow.
Photo

To make the Psychedelic-patterned pillow, start by cutting two 20-inch squares of felt as pillow base pieces.
Photo

Cut several different colors of 18" x 2" felt pieces, and cut one long edge of each piece in a scalloped pattern. Layer the pieces.
Photo

Sew the scalloped panels onto the pillow base and use fabric glue to adhere small, square, mirrored tiles or rhinestone embellishments onto each of the "waves."
Photo

To make this "Funky" pillow, layer three sizes and colors of square felt and sew together. Randomly cut small geometric shapes from various colors of felt and layer groups of three pieces to create miniature "sandwiches."
Photo

Sew the miniature layers of felt together and add a button embellishment. Sew the layers onto the pillow cover base.

Line the edges of the large squares with small strips of black velvet, and sew pompon fringe to the outer edges of the pillow cover.
