Inexpensive suction cups make this project affordable and movable.
This towel holder may be affixed to a mirror to save space in a small bathroom.

Materials:

rope in gold, silver or hemp, 1/2"-1" in diameter
2" suction cups with hooks removed
hot glue gun and glue
clear industrial strength adhesive
2 small matching buttons
2 matching tassels
scissors

Steps:

  1. Measure the desired length for the towel rack. Add two feet to the measurement to allow for the suction cups. Cut the entire length in half.
  2. At the top of the cup, and beginning approximately one foot from the end of the rope, use a hot glue gun to adhere the rope in a swirl pattern. When the cup is completely covered, snip the end and immediately hot glue it to prevent unraveling and tuck it into the swirl. Do this to both suction cups.
  3. Mark the suction cups will be placed, then glue them on with industrial strength adhesive. Wait approximately 30 minutes for the glue to dry.
  4. Slip the tassel loop over the end of the rope, and tie a knot to secure it. Do this to both suction cups.
  5. Tie the remaining rope ends together.
  6. To finish, glue a small button on each side.
