Materials:
cotton fabric
liquid starch
wide paintbrush
straightedge
sharp utility knife
Steps:
- Cut each piece of fabric exactly the same so the pattern always lines up. Do an entire wall or the area beneath a chair rail.
- Saturate walls with fabric starch using a wide paintbrush.
- Apply starch to fabric back and then place fabric on wall. Pull it down over the baseboard about an inch. Use a hand for smoothing so it will not stretch out of shape .
- To match, carefully line up each new piece to overlap the previous one.
- Once dry, cut each piece of overlapped fabric completely through both pieces using a straightedge and sharp utility knife. Trim off excess fabric from baseboard.
Note: If fabric pulls loose from wall while cutting or if air bubbles appear underneath fabric, brush starch on these areas and smooth with hands.
