Handpainted Silk Pillow

Materials:

Silkpaint Kit
AirPen (optional)
12" pillow form
thread
large pot
newspaper

Steps:

1. Stretch silk on Silkpaint Kit frame, placing pattern beneath silk. Trace lines with water-soluble resist in applicator bottle or in AirPen.
2. Paint dye within the resist lines. Dye will flow through silk and stop automatically at the resist lines.
3. Steam-set silk. Rinse out resist. Iron.
4. Cover pillow with scarf. Overlap scarf corners on pillow back and blind-stitch in place.
