This bed is beautiful with a soutache as the finishing touch.
Bedspread: A cover with sides that go to the floor. This doesn't require a dust ruffle.

Comforter: These are quilted and usually reversible. They require a dust ruffle to complete the look, as its sides drop about half way to the floor.

Duvet Cover: An envelope of fabric large enough to slipcover a comforter. This requires a dust ruffle.

Coverlet: Usually one thickness of fabric or a thin quilt. This drops about half way to three quarters to the floor and can be used with or without a dust ruffle.

Soutache: A sheer overlay , usually in an intricate pattern. This is placed over a solid-covered sheet or duvet to soften the look.
