Matt Fox suggests a time-saving tip learned after years of working in rooms--set up shop in the room being worked on or in an adjacent room. Instead of running to the van or basement for the necessary tools, find an out-of-the-way spot to put all the gear.

Lay a doubled-up tarp or packing blanket on the floor. Then set up the tools with the most frequently used items in the front and the less important ones to the back. It's amazing how much time is saved when everything is within reach.
