After Images

Stare at a green dot for a bit, and then look at a white piece of paper. The after image of the green dot is red, the complement of green. When you use a very strong color in a room, you do get a slight after image when you look away at something else in the room. In the featured blue kitchen, the after image effect may make the food take on a slightly orange cast.

The color blue is one of the most rare colors in the food category. In fact, the term "blue plate" special comes from this. Since blue isn't considered a good color with food, the food on a blue plate might not be quite as appetizing, making it a less expensive dish.

When considering the after image concept in a kitchen, green would make all your meats look better and a red kitchen would make green salads irresistible.
