Changing a room in a house to reflect the change of seasons can be very simple. Allison Lynch , of Laura Ashley Home, transforms a bedroom from a winter to a summer look and back by changing a few key elements in the room.

The BedFor fall, Lynch dresses a bed in Laura Ashley's Pelham Stripe bed linens, a rich and elegant floral pattern in blues and yellows. To give it a spring look, substitute some of the patterned pillows for crisp white jacquard and white embroidered ones. Plus, take off the print comforter and substituted an all-white one in richly textured cotton jacquard to match. If the bed has a fabric canopy, try replacing it with another canopy in a sheer voile fabric such as Laura Ashley's Cottage Sprig Voile.

WindowsFor a different look for each season, use simple layered window treatments on easy-to-remove wooden curtain poles and rings. For fall, try patterned draperies in Pelham Stripe to match the bed linens, layered over delicate Madras Muslin lace from Laura Ashley, on tension rods inside the window frame. For spring, simply remove the curtain pole with the print draperies and leave the window covered only in the lace panels for an airy look.

ChairsThe comfortable chair Sandilands by Laura Ashley, upholstered in an ivory damask fabric called Wesley, which spans the seasons. To give it a spring look, change the more fall-like chenille throw to one in yellow gingham and substitute lighter-colored pillows for darker ones.

Accent TableThe table is covered in the same Wesley damask in ivory. For spring, add a smaller table-topper in Madras Muslin lace to match the window panels. Replace the lamp with a lighter-look one.

AccessoriesRemove the decorative area rug for a sparer, cooler look. If you like, you can easily change the artwork on the walls to reflect the new season.
