Mississippi Frontier Home Ornament
Mary Hackett of Carterville, Ill., chose a frontier house on the Mississippi River to represent her state. The French Colonial home was built in 1802 by Pierre Menard, who became Illinois' first lieutenant governor. Hackett used photos of the home and the original floor plans to create a beautiful ornament made out of handmade fabrics and foam core.
