Before: This garage in a duplex owned by two related families is a dumping ground for furniture they plan to refinish or fix someday. That day is here and it's time to make this space functional and inviting.
After: What used to be a jumbled mix of furniture is now a place for parties with family and friends. A reworked workbench becomes a huge table and a faux window with lattice, painted flowers and custom glass artwork adds punch to the back wall.
Designer Karen McAloon works with homeowners Tina O'Shea and Eddie Cantrell to turn their cluttered garage into a fun Mexican cantina to dine, entertain or spend time with Cantrell's sister and her family who live in their shared duplex. McAloon pulls together an amazing Mexican theme with items she found in their storage areas, including souvenirs from their wedding and many trips to Mexico.
