"Impressive" Molding

Here's a trade secret from landscape and interior designer Renee Gunter from Los Angeles for tall ceiling molding treatments.

Tall rooms look great with wide molding treatments at the ceilings. Instead of spending a lot of money on very expensive wood molding, create the look of wide molding by painting in between smaller molding. To accomplish this, install regular crown molding at the top and then smaller molder lower on the wall. Next, paint the space in between the moldings. The result is the look of wide, impressive molding without the great expense.
