The dramatic ceiling medallion is angled for visual interest.
  • The tab-top window treatments are made of a heavy tapestry fabric and frame the two sides of the large window. The window treatments hang from handmade iron tabs, which are adorned with a moss fringe decorative element.
  • Wheeler and Kendall were able to achieve a textured, leathery gesso look on the ceiling by layering coats of paint. A window panel from turn-of-the-century China was attached at an interesting angle in the center of the ceiling. Leather, upholstered coffers finished with nailhead trim were fastened in each corner to break up the expanse of the ceiling and frame the built-in bookcases below.
  • A fascia matching the ceiling coffers was applied on the edges of the bookshelves for a classic, dignified look.

  • To give the library a stately appeal, a new desk was hand-crafted using an antique Spanish design featuring intricate pierced carvings on the legs and around the desk edge.
