Materials: 1x12 luan plywood
paint
large silk leaves
small silk tropical stems
staple gun
paintbrush
wood for cleats
screws
drill
brad nails
brad nailer or hammer
Steps:
1. Cut two right-angle triangles for the sides and secure each to the wall with a cleat (figure A). Attach another piece of luan to the edges of the sides to create a roof.
2. Paint the entire piece in the desired leafy green and let dry.
3. Staple the silk leaves over the top and sides in an overlapping fashion.Use brad nails to add tiny tropical stems to the top piece to give the roof a structural appearance (figure B).
