Unlike those of her childhood friends, Deana Bracken’s house was in a constant state of change. As an interior designer, her mother routinely updated the look of the house, an activity Bracken herself has adopted. Salvaging old pieces and restoring heirlooms is the cornerstone of her interior design business.

It's hard to have a television in a small space without it becoming a TV room. Bracken chose one with a low profile that blends into the decor. Also, because their windows face their neighbor's building and they wanted wall space to hang art, they decided to hang a large painting in the window. You could do the same thing with a hanging garden; a planter box filled with vines is a great way to add privacy to a window.
