A Sophisticated Home and Office
During the day, Robert Marinelli's Chelsea studio is a home office. A low-profile workspace and integrated built-ins disguise and store the professional clutter. After work, Marinelli can serve dinner for six on a banquette and serve drinks from the bar that sits atop his chest of drawers, which discretely stores clothing. With seamless elegance, this space transitions from business to pleasure.

Clean and Contemporary
Marinelli wanted a classy design that is warm and comfortable—and functional. Despite the apartment's size, he still achieves a separation of spaces. He painted adjoining areas different shades of beige to create an effect of contrast within an overall unity. Marinelli also finds that texture creates contrast without drawing all the attention to itself. For the sleeping alcove, he chose a dark wall color that gives the sense of limitlessness to the space.
