Staircase of Books
Abbe was unimpressed when she found an inefficient, bland 450-square-foot Manhattan apartment. Determined to create a stylish home, she hired architect David Lisowski. Clean and Modern
The staircase/bookcase combination was designed to be open, unobtrusive and functional. The stairs are hollow only halfway through, so they're sturdy and still offer enough storage for books. Abbe is glad that she can't see her bed from the living room and her dog can easily maneuver the stairs to the loft.
