The bedroom has a tropical, exotic look with a bamboo bed and fern-colored walls. Bamboo is retro to the 1940 to '50s and adds chic pizzazz to the room. Loecke and Nixon moved the door and built a walk-in closet, a luxury in such a small apartment. Behind the bed is a huge bookcase, which is actually three units from their local unfinished furniture store, combined with decorative trim and black paint for a custom built-in look.
