 Transform a closet into a playhouse with gold paint and regal trimmings.

Closet Theater Materials:
paint (metallic gold and various colors for scenery)
hollow core door
jigsaw
wood for a shelf topper
wood moldings
curtain rod
velvet drapes
tassels
Steps:
- Remove the door to the closet. Cut the core door in half with a jigsaw and add a shelf topper to the cut edge.
- Attach the hinges and decorated the front with wood moldings. Paint the door, trim and moldings gold.
- Paint the inside of the closet with desired scenery.
- Mount the rod inside and above the doorway for the drapes.
- List the play and the players on a chalkboard next to the theater and get ready for the show!

 Tie the window treatment into the theater theme with a flag topper and a painted shade to match the current play. The shade can be used on the window or inside the theater closet for a backdrop.

Flag Topper/Painted Shade Materials:
felt
hot glue gun/glue
rope trim
cup hooks
white vinyl shade
paint
Steps:
- Cut the flags out of felt and put them in the desired color pattern on a flat surface. Glue the corners together.
- Glue the rope trim along the top edge, leaving extra to hang on the sides. Screw cup hooks into the outer side edge of the window casing and wrap the trim around it to hold it in place.
- Paint the shade as desired with a fun scene (use coloring or children's books for inspiration).
- Mount layers of brackets for various shade sizes on the back wall of the theater closet. Change the shades as desired for different backdrops for the plays.
