Design coordinator Charles Burbridge gives the furniture a second life with stain and polyurethane. The sap damage was pretty extensive, so a thorough sanding removes the stains and readies the wood for a coat of stain. Burbridge rolls on the stain with a roller and then brushes it smooth for a clean finish. It's a time-consuming, though inexpensive fix and now the furniture is better protected for many years in the elements.
