To define the office area and separate it visually from the stairway, designer Brice Cooper creates a playful, hanging room divider. Masonite is a great material for this project; it is lightweight, sturdy and easy to cut. He chooses a whimsical shape that he then hangs in a freeform geometric grid. Painting the divider white creates continuity with the wall behind and the ceiling above.
