To give Nolan's collection of colorful Oaxacan carved animals from Mexico more prominence, Cooper built three backlit display shelves. The birch shelves are stained, and frosted Plexiglas and tea lights add a diffused glow. The shelves are arranged above the bed, which is rotated 180 degrees and plumped up with pillows so that it's more of a daybed in the office. New nightstands and bedside lamps balance the bed area.
