To begin the makeover the walls are painted warm brown.

Antique Desk
The homeowner's large antique desk is moved in front of the window to create a focal point in the room.

Console Table–$18
An old chifforobe/lingerie case is converted into a console table. Dividers are added inside the drawers to help the homeowners get organized. Boxes are attached to each side of the table to store magazines. The entire piece is given a fresh coat of black paint. Brass nameplates are then attached to the front of the drawers in order to label the contents within.

Chairs–$86
Two garage-sale chairs are reupholstered with rich herringbone fabric and trim. The chairs are placed in front of the desk to help anchor the desk in the room.

Roman Shade–$72
A tapestry-style Roman shade is hung over the window and bullion trim is added to the bottom for an extra touch of elegance. The shade's fabric sets off the warmth of the wall color with rich tones of reds, greens, browns and golds.
