A home office doesn't have to be so serious--dress it up with textured spray paint and a faux marble finish.
Krylon representative Donna Babylon shows how to create a clever, yet easy home office for a student or professional.

Materials:

2 metal file cabinets
1 standard door
sandpaper
tack cloth
primer
Make It Stone paint
Living Colors paint

Steps:
  1. Using coarse sandpaper, sand the file cabinets (this allows the paint to adhere to the cabinet surface). Next, take a tack cloth and rub over the cabinets for a clean surface.
  2. Select a primer and paint the cabinets. Donna chose a grey color. The darker the outer coat of paint, the darker the primer should be. Let dry.
  3. Next, spray the file cabinets the color of your choice. Donna used a hunter green. Let dry and add a second coat.
  4. Mask off the areas on the cabinet where you do not want the stone spray to hit and apply the stone spray. Let dry.
  5. Sand and prime the door the same way as the file cabinets. Most doors will have the hole for the doorknob which allows for electrical cords.
  6. Once the door is spray painted, mask off the areas you do not want to marble and then apply the marbling spray paint in a coordinating color.
