Close Off the Closet
Design coordinator Charles Burbridge tackles the problem with Ponnusamy's exposed closet. With a hospital track that was fabricated to the custom shape of the space, he sets about to disguise the wardrobe. Even though the extruded aluminum is lightweight, it still requires heavy-duty hardware to mount it to the ceiling. Once the track is up and level, fabric can be hung. Burbridge uses an eyelet tool along the top seam of his fabric: it both punches holes in the fabric and sets the eyelets into the fabric. To be sure the hem is set exactly flush with the floor, he marks off the hemline while the fabric panel is hanging on the track. Six panels create a cohesive enclosure while also providing easy access.
