Materials:

Simple chandelier with uplights and existing metal cups under the candelabra
teacup and saucer for each light
ceramic drill
small light bulbs
washer bolts
clamps
wood block
foam pad

Steps:

1. Take a small piece of wood and drill a hole a little larger than the hole you want to make in the bottom of the teacups and saucers.
2. Use the wood block and a foam pad to drill through each teacup and saucer. Clamp the foam pad on the top and the wood block on the bottom of each piece to help eliminate vibrations.
3. Pour water in the hole before drilling to eliminate too much heat, which will crack the delicate ceramic otherwise.
4. Drill holes in the bottom of the saucers and cups to fit over the stem of the light. Keep the hole small enough, so it stays above the support already attached to the light fixture.
5. Place the saucer and cup over the light. Secure with a washer. Note: Washers may come with the light fixture.
6. Hang the light fixture, according to the manufacturer's instructions. Make sure the weight isn't too heavy for the ceiling support, and if so, use a swag hook to attach the chain to the ceiling for extra support.
