The entertainment center was bought for their last house and didn't really fit into their new home. Design coordinator Summer Baltzer covers the traditional dental moulding at the top of the cabinet with flat strips of wood trim. She also adds the unfinished decorative wood appliques to bring in Asian styling. She uses two coats of gel stain, the first a lighter walnut and then the second a darker walnut that she applies with varying brushstrokes so the first layer shows through. Now the entertainment center looks like an imported, hand-carved Asian cabinet.
