Just 16 miles north of New York City is the tiny town of Airmont, where Brian and Nancy Smith live with their two children in a Colonial-style home. They love every room in their house except the big blank family room, so they're turning to a local designer to transform the space with an inviting design.

Before: Boring and Bland
Two and a half years ago, Brian and Nancy Smith bought their home to be closer to their family. They decorated the home in a casual, yet elegant style; however, they are struggling with the oversize family room. The only element they want to keep is the new wood floors; everything else can go.
