Dodjie and Wendy Acevedo want to bring style and function to their uninspired living room. With a teenage daughter, toddler son and new baby on the way, they just havent had time to pull this room together. Designer Kahi Lee and the Design on a Dime team give the Acevedos a contemporary living room that's comfortable for the whole family.
Before: Everything Must Go
The Dilemma
Although the main activities in this room are playing and watching television, the furniture layout takes up a lot of space in the room. The couches are placed perpendicular to the TV, so the family often sits on the floor for the best viewing. The family has also outgrown the couches and could use more seating. The primary color scheme of the red couches, yellow curtains and blue carpeting just doesn't have that sophisticated style the homeowners want.
