Having a structural element such as a support beam in the middle of a room can limit the way you design the space. But, hiding the element isn’t always the answer — sometimes making it bigger works even better. Designer Angelo Surmelis and the 24 Hour Design team transform a family room that is plagued by an ugly support beam sitting smack-dab in the middle of the space.
