Color Splash : Episode HCLRS-212 -- More Projects »

Designer David Bromstad is inspired to create an updated arts-and-crafts design: pairing traditional arts-and-crafts furniture with modern furnishings, painting faux wood grain on the walls and creating a 3-dimensional mural on the focus wall. The culmination is an impressive living room and dining room.

Before: Hungry for Style
The architecture in the house is craftsman/prairie style, so the homeowners want to reflect that in the design of the living room and dining room. The rooms are open to each other, so having a seamless design that works for both spaces is important. The house has lots of original woodwork, but it is all painted the same color as the walls, and the detail is lost.
