These days it seems many TV and family rooms are morphing into game rooms. Homeowner Tom White and his two daughters, Megan and Kaylyn, want to turn their overcrowded TV room into a family game room where they can gather, play and hang out in a relaxed style. Designer Angelo Surmelis and the 24 Hour Design team have a plan to give this family exactly what they want.

It is hard to even walk in this room. A drum set (bottom right) is blocking the pathway into the room; the homeowners refer to it as the clogged artery. The bulky couch is far too big for the room, and the family thinks it looks dated and drab.
