Guys' Paradise Pad

Decorating Cents : Episode DCT-2806 -- More Projects »

Before: Mismatched and Parisian
First-time homeowner Greg Matthews worked really hard to buy his own town home at age 25. It’s all good, except the existing décor (pictured, right). Greg has a lot of leftover furniture from his family that doesn't quite match and isn't his style. In the dining area, the previous owner had a Parisian theme with red, blue and yellow walls. But Greg isn’t a Parisian-type of guy. He would like his living and dining rooms to reflect the young, urban, poker-playing, masculine guy he is. Since he doesn’t use the dining room for eating, only for poker, he’d like it to have a more card-friendly atmosphere.

After: Poker-Night Ambiance
With the help of host Joan Steffend, carpenter Jeff Meyer and less than $500, designer Beth Solberg gives a living and dining room once filled with mismatched, hand-me-down furniture a contemporary, masculine look that's perfect for poker night.
