Before: Bland and Nonfunctional
HaYoung and Joe recently bought this beautiful midcentury house — the perfect place to raise their daughters, Sarah and Abby. They love all of the unique features of their new home, but when it comes to the bland family room, (pictured, right) it's hard to find anything to love, or even like. The family spends a lot of time in the room, and it's just not functional for them. The TV is too far away, and they need storage for their daughter's books and craft supplies. The homeowners would like a room that has the right balance of comfort and style, as well as warmth and function.

The combination of textures in the rug, silk drapes and the grass wall covering all work together to create a warm, functional and inviting family room. The custom entertainment unit gives the homeowners the sophisticated look they wanted and the storage that they so desperately needed.
