Orange Chairs and Side Table
In the designer room is a set of matching modern accent chairs covered in vibrant orange wool. The pair is valued at $1,600. For the makeover room, a set of modern side chairs was found at a discount home super store. Michele removes the black slipcovers from the chairs and uses them as sewing patterns to create new orange slipcovers. Total cost of the new chairs with slipcovers is $208.

In between the accent chairs in the inspiration room is a $2,000 silver metal table with a custom-etched glass top. For the makeover version, a table was found at a home super store for just $80. To personalize the table, the homeowner sketched a picture of an owl on the glass top using etching paste. Etching paste reacts chemically with the glass and gives it a very cool engraved effect.

Tip: Whenever you are re-creating something you are inspired by, it is always better to personalize it, whether it’s with a different color or detail to really make it your own.
