Redesigners Kelly Arruda and Linda Tortell take a family's living room and give it better flow while adding a great conversation area. Here's how:

  • The sofas are moved to an angled V position in front of the window.
  • Two rattan chairs and a coffee table finish the conversation area.
  • An antique secretary is set next to the front door to visually balance the weight in the room.
  • Finishing touches include three lamps, artwork and collectibles grouped in themed arrangements around the room.
