The new eat-in seating area combines the warmth of country with the sleekness of contemporary style. Moss-colored paint is used on the upper two-thirds of the walls and the lower third is covered in striped wallpaper. The dual wall treatment and chair rail creates architectural interest in a contemporary way. A dark table is paired with a lighter wood bench and white chairs. The white chairs and wall accessories tie in with the modern cabinet hardware. A series of pop art collages are created on inexpensive canvases by combining leftover wallpaper with note cards and post cards.
