Kitchen for Two
Kitchen Trends 2005 : Episode HKT05-109 -- More Projects »
Tom Parks and Casi Finefrock wanted to transform Tom's dated 1980s bachelor pad and kitchen into a warm, cozy space for two so they called on designer DeWitt Beall to complete the transformation. The space is a mix of contemporary appliances and rustic design elements, like the 200-year-old French Parfeuilles tile flooring and Mexican hacienda-influenced backsplash. Appliances include a stainless-steel hood, five-burner gas stove and refrigerator with a bottom freezer. An undercabinet "super" Susan and slide-out pantry closet provide unique storage solutions in the small space. To help Casi reach the upper cabinets, a drawer underneath the lower cabinets pulls out to reveal a stepstool. A remote-controlled skylight allows natural light to flood the room.
