From coffeemakers to convection ovens, the latest kitchen appliances mix innovation and convenience with a dash of style. Gerry Gerhard shows some of these new inventions that are pulling people away from the hot oven and giving lessons in the style of cooking:- One of the hottest things in cook tops today is black glass. The burners under a piece of glass get hot really fast. On the other end of the spectrum, a melt function uses very low voltage so sauces can stay over the heat for hours.
- New ovens have traditional functions like bake, roast and broil, but also have convection options in addition to warming drawers with moist air so the food doesn't dry out.
