Kitchen Design : Episode KDE-805 -- More Projects »
Joan Kohn visits the kitchen of Bob and Lynette Glover, who turned a twist of fate into their dream come true. Their rustic country kitchen is the result of their hard work and dedication to keeping the kitchen true to its 19th-century roots.

The kitchen is an eclectic mix of materials and textures. The Glovers added color and modern conveniences but maintained the integrity of the style. Glass-fronted cabinets showcase colorful collections and a skylight adds natural light to the long and narrow space.

The countertop looks like marble but is actually painted wood. Black appliances complement the color scheme.

The Glovers were hesitant to install tile on the uneven floor so Bob painted the linoleum in earthy colors to coordinate with the cabinetry. Beadboard cabinets with early American-style black door pulls evoke a rustic charm.
