Dark velvet and cotton twill covers the sofa and side chairs for a comfortable look that also hides children's fingerprints. Fancy trim was added with hot-glue and simple stitching.
What do you do when you really love your house, but your family outgrows your kitchen ? A talented young Texas couple took matters into their own hands and designed, built and decorated the big country kitchen where their whole family now congregates.
  • The space is a marriage of styles and textures with soft, comfortable furniture, light-colored walls, concrete countertops and stone floors.
  • Countertops are made of butcher block and poured concrete.
  • The green patina on the iron light fixtures was created by soaking them in a vinegar mix.
  • A child-size mission-style table acts as a coffee table in front of the sofa. Mementos are on display under a glass top.
