In the 1970s, the Thornburg home was a boarding house, home to almost 40 people. They've since restored it to its original beauty.

The original cast-iron door hinges were irreplaceable but the Thornburgs were able to locate reproduction brass hinges with the same Victorian details. Click the image for a close-up view of one of the brass hinges.

The master bath and guest bath are back to back; the stained glass panel is the common wall between the two spaces.

Large, carved Victorian furniture is found throughout, however, many of the upholstered pieces bring in a more modern style.

The green gas stove and Barbara's collection of yellow rookwood pottery determined the color palette in the kitchen. The tile pattern on the floor was inspired by the cornflower motif on one of the fireplace surrounds. Click the image for a close-up view of the tile floor.
