Show hosts Shari Hiller and Matt Fox disagree about the changes that are necessary to update this kitchen. When Fox looks around the room, he sees the green countertops as eyesores plus lots of work, time and money to redo the wallpaper, rip out the lattice and replace the brown appliances. Hiller, however, believes there's potential to match the fabric and wall coverings to the counters, almost making it look like they were picked after the fact. They decide to add fabric to the walls with starch and create a wicker pattern with paint above the new chair rail, and then Matt builds a bar counter for the small seating area. New lighting and window treatments make this dull space look like a decorator showcase room when they are finished.
