Modern Home Theater

reDesign : Episode HRDN-403 -- More Projects »

Before: Unused Room
Homeowners Annette and Dave would like to get as much entertainment value as they can out of their house. To that end, they have decided to convert an extra bedroom (pictured, right) into a luxurious home theater to enjoy with their friends and family. Currently the room isn't big enough to seat a lot of people and provide a true theater-style environment. To gain the space they need, the homeowners want to remove an adjacent bathroom to allow for more seating and a big-screen television. They'd love their new room to reflect their modern tastes, but it has to be comfortable and kid-friendly as well.

After: Pass the Popcorn
Annette and Dave's theater room is a smash hit. The warm colors, comfortable fabric and contemporary style all combine to make a sophisticated, state-of-the-art media room. Removing the bathroom opened up enough space for Kenneth to design platform seating. The floor pillows, chairs and couch allow the homeowners and their guests to watch in total comfort. The custom screen frame really makes a bold statement as it pops off of the custom cabinetry.
