The Right Place for Spirits
For those with limited space in their dining rooms, the entry can be the perfect storage area for wine and spirits, as well as glassware. And, if space allows, a mini-bar can be placed here with a few chairs so when guests arrive, they can get their drinks before entering the formal dining or living room areas. If plumbing is nearby, consider installing a wet bar and closing off the area with a screen. As suggested earlier, the screen could be painted, covered in fabric or collaged with photos. In this scenario, a collage of old wine bottle labels or photo prints of bars--in hotels, neighborhoods, boats and trains--may be appropriate. When purchasing furnishings for storing bottles, consider the Bonnetiere armoire, which is tall and thin.
