Consider making this a place wher you only read certain topics, and keep a small bookshelf nearby for only these topics. For example, if the dining room is the next room over, perhaps this would be a nice place to retreat to plan party menus and choose wines. Keep reference books nearby with a favorite pen and a special pad of paper. With a phone close by, calling in catering and wine orders is easy.
