Custom-built furniture and craftsman-style accents define this dining room redo.

Design on a Dime : Episode DOD-2402 -- More Projects »
Olympic track athlete William Erese had no idea what hurdles he'd have to jump to make his house a home. He and wife Isabelle just purchased their first place and have decorated the living room but have neglected the dining room. Designer Kahi Lee and design coordinators Spencer Anderson and Abraham Hopkins turn this lackluster room into a stylish yet kid-friendly dining room that the whole family can enjoy.

Before: Everything Must Go!
The Dilemma
With no color scheme, a clash of wood tones and broken chairs, it's time for a total redo in this dining room. The Ereses would like to be able to entertain, so they need additional seating around their dining room table, and a bigger table would be nice, too. The dining room must be kid-friendly and multipurpose so the kids can play at the table, and William can use his computer in the corner by the window. The large window, though, overlooks the carport, not a very scenic vista.
