For her walls, Monica bravely chooses the deep purple of a concord grape, which reminds her of a dark red wine. The ceiling is painted a warm latte color, which reflects the tone of the hardwood floor. Subtle striped drapes combine the hues of deep purple and golden latte to reinforce the color scheme. Next the country dining room table is replaced with a dark wood, modern table, and modern chairs are upholstered in brown animal-print fabric. Monica's batik picture from her African vacation is framed and placed as a focal point on the wall.
