Double Take : Episode HTAKE-206 -- More Projects »

Before: Junk Room
Roommates Lisa Revelli and Tim Wooster have just moved into a new apartment. They would like to be able to entertain and have dinner parties, but their dining room has become a catchall (pictured, right). They've found a look that would be perfect for their dining room–a relaxed, yet formal room with bright colors and a light, airy feel. The problem is the $76,000+ price tag is anything but light.

The Inspiration Room
"Formal, but not intimidating" is how designer Walter Burns describes his creation. He achieves the look by mixing traditional elements with elegant touches of whimsy. Asian antiques sit juxtaposed to very traditional European elements, and a few custom-designed twists add detail and interest to the room.

The Double Take team–makeover designer Michele Addey, budget shopper Halili Knox and carpenter Jamie Schmitt–create a mirror image of this gorgeous dining space for less than $2,500.
