Credenza – $16
An old discarded buffet table is given some Middle Eastern style with craft paper and polyurethane. The paper is cut into little squares and laid out in a grid pattern. A coat of polyurethane gives it a glossy sheen, making the grid patterns look like mother-of-pearl inlay.
Asian-Inspired Artwork – $11
The artwork hanging above the credenza is made with strips of leftover wallpaper and craft paper. The paper is arranged on a large piece of Masonite then sealed in place with decoupage glue.
Wooden Plates – $4
To make these unique wall hangings, craft paper is cut into small pieces and then laid in a pattern on the plates. Decoupage glue is dabbed on the paper to adhere it to the plates and to give it a shiny top coat.
Radiator Shelf – $9
To give the large radiator additional function, a plywood shelf is built to sit on top of it. Slate tiles are laid on top of the shelf in a random pattern then glued down with adhesive.
Rug – $41
A carpet remnant was made into an area rug. Carpet tape was spray painted and then attached to the edges to serve as a border.

Bench – $26
A bench is placed in the corner for additional seating. The grass-green pillows add a nice punch of color.
Painting – $30
A bargain painting found at an estate sale adds visual weight and dimension when placed over the bench.
Accessories – $37
Brightly colored accessories with an international flair are placed around the room to complete the global makeover.
